Sudapin
SUDAPIN was coined by combining the first syllables of the names of three prominent datus living in the area during the old days, namely: SUMIN, DAILY, PINANTAO. It was
formerly a sitio of the old townsite (now Manongol). When a school was installed in the old townsite – the Manongol Primary School – residents of the sitio under the leadership of its teniente del barrio (Barrio Lieutenant) in Manongol, Mr. Celso D. Melodias, petitioned the Municipal Council of Kidapawan to create a new Barangay. At that time, more than 50 families resided in the sitio – which was a valid reason for the creation of a new barrio during those days. Sudapin was then separated from Manongol, with a descendant of one of the datus, Mr. Amado Pinantao, appointed as its first Barrio Lieutenant. Sudapin became a regular Barangay by virtue of Resolution No. 52 signed in 1964.
