Sikitan
Barangay Sikitan was named after a Manobo Chieftain, Datu Sikitan, who ruled large majority of early inhabitants of the place, the Manobos. Manobos, Bagobos and Muslim then occupied the place.
During that time, the Manobos, Bagobos, and Muslims inhabited the area. Sikitan used to encompass the territories now occupied the present-day Barangays San Isidro, New Cebu, Sto. Niño and Katipunan. Christians from Cebu, Panay and all of Western Visayas started arriving in 1935. They acquired lands through the natives who sold their lands to them. It became a regular barrio in 1959 through Resolution No. 50. In 1948, the first barrio Lieutenant was appointed in the person of Custodio Delante. Then the first school was created at San Miguel and the first teacher in primary level was Mrs. Tolosa. Sikitan became a regular barrio in 1959 through Resolution No. 50.
