Mateo
Mateo was derived from the name of the first Manobo native inhabitants, Datu Mateo. In 1947, Barangay Mateo became an independent Barangay from its mother
Barangay, which is Manongol. It is bounded in the north by Barangay Marbel, in the south is Barangay Kalasuyan, in the west Barangay Linangkob and in the east is Barangay Luvimin. The first tenyente del Barrio was Felimon Gementiza, followed by Elias Bolasa and the last to earn the name tenyente del Barrio was Vicente Solon. The only Barangay road open then was the road leading to the elementary school. Datu Amado Pinantao donated the school site, which was opened to the public in 1955. The first primary teacher was Mrs. Emiliana Villarta. During the sixties, the natives slowly spread out and little by little disappear in Barangay Mateo although some remained up to this time. They celebrated their barrio fiesta every 7th of October in honor of their patron saint. At the same time their Barangay day celebration was held every last week of the month of May.
