Linangkob
Linangkob is one of the Barangays of Kidapawan City. Before, this place was part of different barrios. The northeastern is part of Marbel, the eastern side is part of Mateo, the
southern side is a portion of New Bohol, the western part is of Sikitan and the north western side is part of New Cebu. Its name was derived from the Cebuano word “langkob” which means united. The original inhabitants of this place were the
Indigenous People called “Manobo”. But years later, Christians mostly Cebuanos migrated and occupied most areas in the Barangay. The first Tiniente del Barrio was Jesus Anduyan. Mateo Olodin donated the first primary school and the first teacher was Mrs. Luisa Morales. Sometime in 1972, the people of Barangay Linangkob experienced a long drought. It lasted for almost 9 months. The financial stability of most of the residents was really affected because of the famine encountered by the whole barangay. Meanwhile in 1977, Barangay Linangkob was a National Awardee on Primary Health Care and at the same time a Purok Awardee on herbal medicines, the only awardee in the entire province.
This year 2003, the first secondary school was created with 90 enrollees and temporarily housed at Multi-Purpose Building.
